Happsy reviews: Organic Mattress Materials & Design
With most online mattresses, the story is all about comfort. The brands will play up things like pressure relief, pain relief
, and improvements to quality of sleep. Happsy takes a different approach. Sure, it still contends that its bed is comfortable and will help you to achieve more restful sleep, but the big sell with this particular bed is the organic design.
Happsy is an organic mattress, pretty much start to finish. Here’s how the layers of the bed break down:
A look inside the Happsy Organic Mattress
- Cover – The mattress is fitted with a soft-to-the-touch organic cotton cover
- Comfort layer – 2” organic latex foam that’s aerated for increased airflow, and covered in organic wool batting
- Support layer – 8” pocketed coils to allow for better air circulation, additional support, durability, and isolate motion
- Foundation layer – Organic cotton shreds as part of its commitment to create one of the best mattresses for health-focused lifestyles

Happsy reviews: Mattress Cover
And, with regard to design, the last element to discuss is that Happsy has an organic cotton cover. You will notice that it’s a little more coarse than the average cover out there. That is because it doesn’t have a lot of the “filler” materials that other covers contain. It won’t be as stretchy or elastic.
The cover isn’t machine washable, so if you happen to spill something on it, you’ll need to spot-clean it.
Happsy reviews: Firmness And Feel
Happsy is a firm mattress broadly speaking, but we rate it as a medium-firm (without the topper). That is according to the average person in America (anywhere from 160 lbs to 210 lbs).
As you can see in our chart below, however, firmness is a range because it’s subjective based on a person’s weight. The heavier you are, the softer Happsy will feel.
With the optional topper, Happsy goes from a 10″ latex hybrid mattress to a 12″ one. The optional pillow top adds 2″ of softer organic latex foam, moving Happsy from a medium-firm to between medium and medium-firm.
The latex foam will offer pressure relief, but primarily the benefit you get from this type of foam is resilience and responsiveness. The bed will have a springy, durable feel that not many online beds offer. That said, absent the optional topper, Happsy won’t feel as soft and contouring as a lot of the other bed-in-a-box mattresses. There are tradeoffs with everything.

Happsy reviews: Bed Pricing
Before we come out and mention exact prices we need to preface this section with the fact that organic mattresses are not cheap. Most latex mattresses are in the $2,000 range, if not more. Happsy, luckily, is priced for the mass-market even if it is more expensive than the typical bed-in-a-box mattress online. Here’s a look at the prices by size for the bed:
|King / Cal King||$1,699|
As you can see, Happsy is not “cheap,” but it’s also not egregious whatsoever in terms of MSRP. Actually, relative to a lot of other latex hybrid mattresses, Happsy is quite affordable. If the company is running promotions, however, the bed will be even more affordable, so it might be worth your time to check Happsy.com for current discounts.
The one wrinkle to the entire pricing equation is that, like the Avocado Green Mattress, Happsy sells an optional pillow topper that will add cushioning to the bed, and also increase the price tag. For the queen size, if you get the topper, the MSRP ends up closer to $1,800, which—at the risk of sounding like a broken record—is not cheap, nor expensive.
